What is the scientific name for roly-poly?
Question Date: 2006-04-29
Answer 1:

Roly-poly (also known as pill bugs or wood-lice) are actually crustaceans like lobsters. They belong to the Class Crustacea and the Order Isopoda. The scientific name is made up of the genus and species. This is a little harder for the roly-poly because there are lots of species that we commonly call roly-poly or pill bugs. The scientific name for a common type of roly-polyis Armadillidium vulgare.
