On the endangered species scale, what does "EW" stand for?
Question Date: 2007-04-30
Answer 1:

EW stands for "extinct in the wild." This means that there are no natural, surviving populations of a particular species in the wild. EW does note mean totally extinct though since there are members of the species in zoos/captivity.
