Technology is advancing steadily as I write this, but it happens in small steps. But think about the fact that your computer that is five years old is maybe a tenth as fast as the computer you buy at the store today, and that will show how quickly technology *is* advancing.
Of course, we don't know where technology is going. For example, will we one day have flying cars? Well, maybe we will, but we don't know when. Or maybe it's just impossible for cars to fly in a practical sense, so technology will never get there. Or maybe it is possible, but by the time we have the knowledge to do it, we will have invented something else that removes the need for cars altogether.
Technology advances every day.Since 10 years ago, I have seen many technology advancements in communications, robotics, information technology, medicine, etc. I can imagine that in 10 years from now, we will have a lot more changes, not only in these fields, but in many more like nanotechnology, materials, computer science, etc. Just try to observe all the technology around you today, and in 10 years from now, try to look back and compare the technology of today with the one that you are going to have by 2021. You will be amazed with the results, in the same way my generation is amazed because of all the technology advancements that we are having every year. And all of this is only possible because of Science, scientists, and teachers who take care of the students that learn Science and apply it for the benefit of our world.
