Why do some events stand out in our memory more than others?
Question Date: 2011-12-14
Answer 1:

Some memories stand out because of the emotional content of the item being stored (a gory scene, a happy kid) or of how we were feeling when we experienced it (we were very sad or excited).

Answer 2:

Some events stand out because they are moving or important. Others are just memorable.
