What are the best batteries that have been made to date?
Question Date: 2012-01-10
Answer 1:

The best battery will depend on the application. Battery manufacturers are well aware of customer needs and have responded by offering packs that best suit the specific applications (stores the most energy, creates the largest voltage, has the longest life time when not being used, operates well under the largest range of different temperatures, etc.) The mobile phone industry is an example of clever adaptation; the emphasis is placed on small size, high energy density and low price. Longevity comes in second. Please read the next article, which is interesting and rich in information for your question.
