How far inland can tsunamis travel?
Question Date: 1999-05-03
Answer 1:

I know of a tsunami off the coast of Alaska caused by a landslide that traveled many miles up a river valley. Most tsunamis caused by earthquakes don't travel inland more than a mile at most, I think.
