If you dig a hole in the center of the Earth and you drop a stone in the hole, what will it happen?
Question Date: 2012-12-16
Answer 1:

The stone would go back and forth from one side of the earth to the other, oscillating is what we call it. This would happen if we had a hole drilled totally from one side of earth through center to the other.
