Why are humans on Earth? Are we population control to animals?

Answer 1:

So far as science can tell, the processes that caused humans to come into being are unguided - we were not created with some purpose to fulfill (at least, not as far as we know). Many religions will give you reasons for why we exist, but science is not capable of discerning whether these reasons are true or not.
