Question Date: 2013-04-10
Answer 1:

Good question. A chemical is any compound or substance that has been purified or prepared. Many people think of bad things when they hear the word "chemical," but that thinking is incorrect.

Answer 2:

A chemical is any single substance composed of atoms. For example, you are not a chemical because you are composed of many different substances, but the water in your body is a chemical.
