Answer 1:
Hi and thank you for your question! Most people
digest foods from 24 to 72 hours so approximately
1 to 3 days. It depends on a few things such as
the person and how healthy they are.
Let's start with what a doughnut is, a doughnut is
made up of simple carbohydrates which are digested
pretty fast in our bodies compared to more complex
carbohydrates or proteins (meat). The body digests
certain foods faster than others for example: it
is easier to digest some chocolate rather than
some nuts.
The body takes in carbohydrates and breaks down
into simpler molecules and travels down. Once it's
in the stomach, and then it moves down into the
small intestine.
After eating, it takes about 6-8 hours for food to
pass through the stomach and small intestine. Once
there, it moves to the large intestine for more
digestion and then elimination of residue happens
after 24 hours, but complete elimination of the
food, or doughnut in this case, may take several
days. Carbohydrates tend to spend the least time
in the stomach and so I think out of all the
foods, doughnuts would be digested pretty quickly
compared to say, a steak. It will definitely not
take 10 days though, a good guess would be the
24-72 hours. |
