Answer 1:
Fruits and vegetables grow by converting
sunlight into energy. Plants have chloroplast
cells that use the sun's rays to make energy that
they store. The chloroplast cells are green and
are what makes the plants look green.
Vegetables are the plant's roots, stalks, or
leaves. All of there parts of the plants are used
to catch more sun and then store it for later.
Fruits are the plants way of protecting and
dispersing the plant's seeds. Fruits are the
structures around the seeds. The include things
like watermelons, grapes, green beans, and
tomatoes, but also include things that we often
don't think of as being fruits, such as a
hazelnut, walnut, or coconut. The fruit is often
sweet and nutritious so that animals will take the
fruit and move it to a new area, and then the seed
will end up in a new place to grow away from the
adult.
