How did dolphins evolve from dogs that lived by the ocean?
Question Date: 2013-10-23
Answer 1:

Dolphins did not evolve from dogs. Dolphins are whales, and whales are related to hippopotamuses. We don't know all of the details of how something like a hippo became something like a whale, but some fossils suggest that they lived in a way similar to crocodiles in some ways.
