Are scientists working on traveling to the sun? Is it possible to visit other planets with different kinds of space suits?
Question Date: 2015-05-06
Answer 1:

Yes, NASA is working on sending instruments and probes to the sun. It's no place for astronauts given the heat, at least not yet. Space suits and materials for space equipment are constantly becoming more advanced. Fields of research including Materials Science and Engineering as well as Astronautical and Space Engineering work on producing materials that can withstand all kinds of harsh conditions that you might find in space including extreme cold, extreme heat, ultraviolet light irradiation, high and low pressures, and impact from space debris.
