Answer 1:
Bananas start out green and then they turn
yellow when they get ripe. My dad was in
Trinidad during World War II, and he discovered
that bananas don't ripen nicely if you leave them
on the banana plant. So he picked a bunch of
bananas and hid it, and then they ripened and he
ate them.
The internet just says, if you pick a banana
when it's completely yellow, the bugs and rodents
will have discovered it first! The internet also
says bananas are picked when they're still green,
so they can be shipped better.
Lots of fruit starts out green and then turn
colors when they're ripe - oranges, strawberries,
blueberries, for example. Can you think of any
fruit that does Not start out green?
