Are the ocean tides and waves connected to the planets and stars?

Yes,the ocean tides and waves are connected to the planets and stars, but only the sun and the moon have effects big enough for you to notice. The tides are the result of the Earth getting stretched by their gravity.


Answer 2:

The ocean tides are only connected to the moon. The planets and stars are too far away.
