I still don't understand why there are no snakes in Hawaii. I though some snakes can swim. If some snakes can swim then can they swim to Hawaii and live around there?

Answer 1:

We have several answers for this question on our database, you can find them on the links below. However, I would like to add that swimming snakes would still have to traverse incredible distances by sea to get to Hawaii, and that probably not enough of them have ever survived that journey in order to reproduce on the island.
