When was the first owl born and where did they come from?

Answer 1:

The oldest fossil owls are between 60 and 57 million years old, and already lived as far apart as France and Colorado even then.

Because these are the oldest fossil owls and because birds don't preserve well and so have a poor fossil record, it's impossible to know exactly where they first evolved.
