What is an adenovirus?
Question Date: 2021-04-07
Answer 1:

Adenoviruses are common viruses that cause a range of illnesses, such as cold-like symptoms, fever, sore throat, pneumonia, and diarrhea.

There is no specific treatment for people with adenovirus infection, but the good news is that most infections are mild and may require only over-the-counter pain medicines or fever reducers. You can get an adenovirus infection at any age and people with weakened immune systems are more likely to get sick from an adenovirus infection.

Adenoviruses are usually spread from an infected person to others through close personal contact and through the air by coughing and sneezing, so very similar to the way coronavirus spreads. So our current prevention for the coronavirus should also work very well against adenovirus too! "
