Hello, I am doing research on lions, and I’m curious. I have learned a lot already. Do you have any scientific research about lions that is funny or interesting?
Question Date: 2022-02-16
Answer 1:

Lions:

Lions sleep up to 20 hours per day!
Lions are the only big cats that live in groups (also called "prides"). Most other cats are solitary.
Female lions provide food for the pride through hunting. Lions are also known to steal food from other carnivores.
There are usually up to 3 adult males in a pride.
Young males are kicked out of the pride when they reach adulthood; they will fight the reigning adult male in other prides to "dethrone" him and take his place. Male lions help defend the pride from outside attacks.
An adult male's roar can be heard up to 8 km (5 miles) away!
Lions can run up to 50mph (in short bursts).

Answer 2:

Lion manes are pretty interesting. Usually only male lions have them, but there is one population where female lions have them. This may keep away strange males who are a threat to the cubs.
